            Murfreesboro Schools Ranked 23rd Best In Country Schools within the city limits of Murfreesboro are the 23rd best in the country, according to a new ranking published by the research website  Niche.com . The website released its findings in late May. The ranking includes schools governed by both Rutherford County Schools and Murfreesboro City Schools. No other schools in Tennessee, ranked by city, made the top 50 list, according to the website’s national rankings. “The MCS family is very excited about the national ranking.                       Dog park funding approved for Smyrna    SMYRNA — Dogs in Smyrna are soon going to have a lot to bark about. The town of Smyrna approved $30,000 for use in the construction of Bark Springs at Sharp Springs, an 8-acre dog park that should be done by the fall, Smyrna Parks and Recreation Director Mike Moss said. “We’ve already started doing the parking lot … and we’ll start putting up the fence in the next couple of weeks,” Moss said. Bark Springs will be located underneath dozens of towering shade trees at the back side of Sharp Springs Natural Area, a 360-acre public green space off Jefferson Pike that is maintained by Smyrna Parks and owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
